Stanley® Vidmar® Introduces Variable Speed Control on 2K STAK System® Adjustable Storage Solution
New adjustable drive system gives operators greater control over aisle speed.
Allentown, Pa. (December 18, 2007) – Stanley® Vidmar®, a manufacturer of premium custom storage systems for use in a wide range of industries, has introduced a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) motor control on its 2K STAK System® Adjustable Storage Solution. The new variable drive provides the ability to set the aisle speed of the STAK System, offering added control and safety when moving the lift.
The STAK System is a single-operator, adjustable, pallet-based storage system with an integrated lift device. The system maximizes floor space by storing bulky items on vertical shelves with removable pallets. The integrated lifting and handling device enables narrower aisle space requirements than those required to maneuver a conventional forklift. Operators of the STAK System do not require a forklift license.
The VFD provides complete control over three different settings: acceleration speed (ramp up), maximum speed, and deceleration speed (ramp down). The factory speed settings are adjusted using an input keypad and LCD screen. The new VFD is standard on the 2K STAK System.
An integrated electronic braking control provides smooth, controlled braking of the STAK system bridge and drive unit. The electric brake system slows the drive unit speed gradually yet quickly to ensure proper control and safe maneuvering of items on the lift.
The versatile STAK System helps to maximize available storage space by utilizing vertical real estate and reducing necessary aisle width. Its single operator system boosts productivity and saves money by allowing a single worker to quickly retrieve large items. The adjustable pallet locations help to maximize storage density by minimizing the vertical space requirements of each stored item. The integrated lift provides exceptional maneuverability in reduced-width aisles
STAK System pallets can be stored in 3-7/8” increments and feature self-centering supports. Each pallet can support up to 2000 pounds. Options include a wire basket, tire storage pallet, toolholder, and tub kit. The STAK System is also available for HazMat applications and in an optional 4,000-pound lift capacity.
