Stanley® Vidmar® Introduces New Weapons Cradle for Firearm Storage
Multiple cradle designs enable secure, efficient storage for a wide range of weapons.
Allentown, PA (July 9, 2007) - Stanley® Vidmar®, a leading producer of storage solutions for military and industrial applications, has introduced a Weapons Cradle for storing a variety of military firearms. The cradles can be installed in Stanley® Vidmar®'s high-density storage cabinets and Vertical Lift Modules (VLMs).
The rubber-lined steel cradles are designed to match the profile of an assortment of shoulder-fired military weapons, including the M4, M16, and M240-series rifles.
The precise profile design ensures that each weapon is held securely in place, preventing accidental damage or injury during removal or storage.
Depending on the weapon, a standard 45- or 60-inch wide cabinet drawer can hold a total of five to nine weapons. A 59-inch tall cabinet with four drawers can store up to 36 scope-mounted M4 rifles in the same space currently required to store nine weapons vertically. An additional fifth drawer can be added when storing weapons without scopes.
A foam pistol insert with poly foam drawer liner is also available for handgun storage.
To maximize weapon security, a right and left hinge lock bar can be integrated into each cabinet.
The weapons cradles can be used in fixed or mobile cabinets to accommodate a variety of customer needs, including shipboard applications. When integrated in any Stanley® Vidmar® Vertical Lift Module (VLM) Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS), customers can achieve the ultimate high-density weapons storage system. With available heights up to 45 feet, the VLM can store and retrieve up to 176,000 lbs. of materials-all accessible from one convenient computer console.
Stanley® Vidmar® storage engineers can develop custom storage solutions for weapons quantities ranging from squad level to brigade level, providing the quality and versatility needed to improve efficiency and productivity.
